Our Mission

The Youth Ambassadors of Las Vegas mission is to empower, encourage, and equip young youth in our community to become leaders of tomorrow. To develop essential life skills, and ultimately become self-sufficient by providing health and wellness, opportunities for post-secondary, life skills, networking, employment, and mental health in a diverse chapter.

Our Core Values:

Respect: The ability to conduct yourself professionally and treat others as you would like to be treated.

Integrity: Take responsibility for your actions and accept responsibility for your mistakes by being honest with yourself and others

Commitment: Attending and participating in events and showing loyalty to the Youth Ambassadors of Las Vegas Program

Communication: Respond effectively and professionally. Network with others and not use profanity and/or harsh language.

Attitude: Display a positive mindset and encourage others to do so in order to becoming the best version of yourself.

Discipline: Creating the habit of ensuring success by being consistent to yourself and YA members.

About Us

Youth Ambassadors of Las Vegas was established in 2015. We have graduated more than 2,000 students and enrolled them into Universities, Certification Programs, Military, & Employment.

We are a passionate diverse program that partner's with community organizations and provide our youth with food, school supplies, hygiene products and clothing. We empower students to grow and experience different avenues and involve youth in planning student-led workshops.

Services

Provide educational components and emotional or behavioral support.
Assist youth to overcome behavioral, social or emotional problems that are affecting their learning
Work closely with a range of learners but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages
Actively listen to the youth, help them build self-esteem and confidence, push them to achieve their goals and offer stability and positive reinforcement in their lives
Relate to students with a wide range of abilities and often from diverse social backgrounds
Develop a strategic outline in collaboration with youth's school to customize the needs and wants with support from the principal and administrators
Provide case management services and provide family engagement through our life skills program

Benefits

Youth will be connected to other onsite resources such as literacy and numeracy support through other agencies and Youth Ambassadors services
Youth will be expose to extracurricular activities including sports and increase school spirit to support with building a good candidate for future opportunities
Track report cards, attendance and work with family courts to maintain a low truancy in the school
Upon graduation students will have their plan of action for their future
Students will receive follow-up services after graduation to ensure they are on track with their academic goals and receive support if new barriers are identified during follow-up

Workshops

The Youth Ambassadors of Las Vegas provides an array of workshops for our youth to expierence different avenues such as:
Mental Health, Life Skills, Employability, College Readiness, Social Awareness, Health Awareness, Suicide Prevention, Drug Prevention, Proper Hygiene, Leadership Development, Service-Learning Projects, Civic Engagement, Anger Management Support, Self-Love and Financial Literacy; with the guidance of a licensed professional or staff member. Services that will be provided all year as follows; are Mentoring, Tutoring, Individual Academic Planning, Job Readiness, College Applications, College & Career Fairs, Financial Aid Applications, Resource Referrals, Parent Engagement, Job Shadowing, and more.

Police Officer las vegas Metropolitan Police Department

Andy Loos

Andrew Loos is a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officer and a United States Navy Veteran. Currently, Andrew works as a Training Officer at LVMPD Academy. His most rewarding position has been Community Oriented Policing (COP). His involvement in meaningful community outreach programs at COP embodied his personal philosophy that problems cannot be resolved by continuous arrests, but rather need deeper, more profound measures. A commitment to youth oriented programs, specifically underserved teenage populations, motivated him. With the goal of mentoring young athletes and helping them maximize their potential, he co-founded a soccer program. In addition to community outreach, members created scholarship opportunities and life coaching sessions. As a mentor, Andrew has a strong drive to inspire and guide young people. In order to develop them, by eliminating limiting beliefs, and empowering them to reach their maximum potentia.

David Chi

David Chu is a business entrepreneur who ensures teens are engaged with the opportunities around them. David owns California Wholesale Produce Company to promote healthy access to fresh produce. Through his strategic learning skills of communication, problem solving, and team management, his company grew. His goal is to share his experience. David has always been active in communities around the world. David believed that all children and teens can grow and achieve. His volunteer experiences include leaders in training, Kookay, Journey Education, Asian Community Development Council Summer Programs, and Bee Community in Mexico City, Mexico. Having two children, David believes involvement and goal-oriented mindsets can conquer greatness. David has been in business for 20 years. In addition to sharing stories and experiences with teens, he offers assistance to those who see more opportunities. His life mission is to volunteer for teen leadership training in every community, every city, and every country.
